Q1 2018: Events in a nutshell

Events were central to our activities this quarter as we reach further into the markets we are already situated in, to bring the benefits of our proprietary tech Logico to advertisers. Here is a quick wrap up of our experiences with some key learnings.

Anna Shevchenko on stage at Digital Communications Conference, Russia

Digital Communication Conference, Russia, 20th Feb

Our sales lead Anna Schevchenko was on hand to educate the Russia region on the growth of AI and ML use in digital campaigns, and

taking the opportunity to define how it can impact campaigns. She wrapped up with an interview with Pravada.ru, giving more insight about what our tech can offer advertisers in terms of better ROI on their digital spend.

Ad:tech New Delhi, 8th-9th March

We exhibited at ad:tech New Delhi alongside our Affiliate Network partner ProfiliAd. It was an exciting opportunity for us to build on our long-term experience in the Indian region.

We kicked off with a private soiree gathering on the eve of the event, before heading full steam into the 2 days. Whilst our team were hard at work networking at our booth, our GM Marino Gualano joined a panel discussion to share his thoughts on the ‘5 Affiliate Marketing Trends for 2018’. His summary takeaway for the audience was that “The future of performance marketing depends on attribution”.

We were also delighted to have one of our Indian partners Firstcry, join us, to showcase their campaign results, achieved successfully through our Logico technology. Read our press release for more info.

Our team certainly gained a lot from the well organised event and look forward to following up on discussions we had with our prospects.

Marino Gualano, GM & Co-founder

“The market is growing both in volume and in awareness. India still has a hunger to grow that UK has maybe never had, due to the big fortunes accumulated back from the colonialism ages. People and companies in India face the market alone, without the support of strong global lobbying systems.

I enjoyed the quality of conversations, which were not superficial like in some western countries but instead were very driven and committed.

Whenever you have a deep message or a tech innovation to introduce in India, people are very attentive and interested in what you talk about. In fact, we have been asked a lot of questions and today, the Indian market see us as a reliable player and a trustful company.”

Claudia Collu, CCO

“There is a serious concern in India regarding AI stealing jobs from humans. Our stance is that AI enables our Business Analysts team to develop new, better and more efficient competencies. At ad:tech I was exposed to much more than just the technological progressions in the market. I learned that you deliver business cards with both hands whilst slightly bowing your head.”

Sonu Sekharan, Business Development Associate (India)

“I really enjoyed catching with our partner Firstcry. It’s always great to hear directly from partners that we were able to deliver to their expectations, which is why they chose to work with us over other similar players.”

Our partner ProfiliAd also found great value from ad:tech this year.

“We built a lot of buzz at ad:tech, and the immense networking opportunities we got will prove to be very beneficial for our future growth, with additional advertisers & publishers. Attendees visiting our stand were not only able to understand our affiliate network offering, but could also engage in our iPhone giveaway.”

Ecommerce MoneyAfrica Conference & Exhibition, South Africa – 14th-15th March

Our MENA team were out in force during ECommerce Money Africa, to bring the message on how AI and ML can help digital strategies.

Our COO Piero Pavone was part of a panel discussion to help advertisers see value in technology in digital strategies. He was supported by our team at the booth, who were helping advertisers understand more about how our Logico tech could help their KPIs.

IAB Seminar ‘Digital Power: Dive into data driven business’, Milan – 16th March

Michele Marzan, CSO, on stage at IAB 'Digital Power' Seminar

It’s always great to connect with our home territory and at this IAB Seminar ‘Digital Power: Dive into data driven business’, we took to the stage co-hosting with Google, to deliver an informative and insightful talk. We also invited our ML consultant Armando Vieira to the stage, to cut through the misinterpretations of AI and ML that may still be happening in the digital ecosystem.

Google Cloud OnBoard, Milan– 21th March

Michele Marzan, CSO, on stage at Google Cloud OnBoard Milan

To wrap up the event-heavy month, our CSO Michele Marzan was on stage at Google Cloud OnBoard in Milan, where he presented our proprietary tech product Logico, as a case study about GCP. Since its launch last year, Logico has helped brands optimise their campaign strategies and maximise returns.

To a community of developers and IT managers, Michele explained how we combined various Google Cloud Platform products, such as Cloud BigTable, Dataflow and Datalab and BigQuery with our tech solution. He emphasised the importance for us to have everything in Cloud, for scalability and efficiency (with processing speed below 100 m/s), so we can meet our client demands.
